The South University library kicked off its National Library Week celebrations with free bookmarks with the NLW 2010 theme Communities Thrive @ your library to all students who stopped by the library.

Eager students wait the drawings
On the second day of activities students picked up quiz cards in the library for the Ring-Around-the -Databases competition. The four-question quiz was designed with SU Information Directive in mind and required participants to use various libary databases which included newspaper, literature, general and eBooks to find the answers. All correct entries were entered into a drawing for a $25 Amazon gift card.

Students entered a raffle for James Patterson books and a South University flash drive on Wednesday.

Eager students waited in the library for the results of the drawings on Thursday. Campus President Troy Ralston performed the honors. Folole Wang was thrilled to win the $25 Amazon gift card and was going to use it to add to the personal library she is creating. Shaunte Williams won the SU flash drive, TJ Snyder won a James Patterson book and Erick Galkowski won the other James Patterson book.
Erick who was headed on a plane to Arizona was happy he had won reading material. "Look it's in large print too," he said happily.
The week ended with a bucket of cany in the library for students, faculty and staff. It was a sweet end to the week of celebrations.
