Written Notice and Explanation – Proposed VALL Dues Changes

The Virginia Association of Law Libraries has not increased dues since 2002. To improve our member communications and website, we need to invest in a more robust platform. In addition, VALL meeting costs have increased without a corresponding increase in membership.

Therefore, per Article III, Section 4 of the VALL Bylaws, this message serves as written notice and explanation, 30 days prior to balloting, that the Executive Board proposes the following VALL dues changes:

  • Individual Membership: $30
  • Institutional Membership: $30
  • Associate Membership: $40
  • Sustaining Membership: $75
  • Student Membership: $10

To be effective June 1, 2025.

An electronic ballot will be sent by email on April 2 to all current VALL members, who may vote whether to approve the dues changes. Voting will close on April 16, with results announced shortly thereafter. Approval by two-thirds of all members voting will be required to adopt the new rates.

Feel free to contact Victoria Levy, VALL Secretary, with inquiries at (804) 786-5227 or vlevy@vacourts.gov.

Thank you!
